American Roulette

Advertisements

As you are probably aware there are several different types of Roulette available in casinos today. The one that is most often used in the United States is American Roulette. This is the Roulette game that offers the double zero. In Europe, Roulette is often played with a single zero, offering slightly better odds. Many online casinos offer both variants of the game. Either way you will be in for an exciting ride.

This version of the game has thirty-eight slots, each one of them has their own number and is colored either red or black, except for the zeros, they are green. The numbers that are on an American Roulette wheel are 1 through 36, the single zero and the double zero. The numbers are laid out on the wheel in pairs that alternate; one pair is even, another is odd and so on all the way around the wheel. A game starts when the dealer (also known as the croupier) spins the wheel one way and drops the ball in the opposite way. When the ball starts to slow down it will finally come to rest in one of the numbered slots.

The American Roulette Table is made so that all of the numbers except for the single and double zeros are lined in three columns of twelve numbers. The first column alternates black and red numbers, as do all three. There are also several other places on this table to bet including the 1 to 18 square, Even square, Odd square, Red square, Black square, 19-36 square, 1st 12 square, 2nd 12 square, 3rd 12 square, 0 square, 00 square and a 2 to 1 box at the end of each column. All of these squares are available for you to place your bets on and there is no limit to how many numbers you can bet on at one time.

There are different odds for each bet that you place. When you are going in to play with your own money you should go in knowing what is the best to bet on; below there is a detail of what each bet will pay out.

Knowing what the payouts for the different combinations are before you go into playing the game will help you decide which numbers you should bet on and how many bets you should place. You always should have the most information possible when you are playing at any game, the more you know the better you will do.
