If you are setting out to play Roulette you need to know a couple of things about Roulette bets. First of all it is not like all other games you play online, there are many different things that you can bet on. It just depends on what numbers you like or whether you want to bet on more than one number. There are so many different types of Roulette bets that you can stand to win a lot of money if luck is with you.

The European and French Roulette Games allow players to "Announce" bets to the Croupier who then puts the bets on the correct field:

  • Number Neighbours Bet (Voisin du Nombre): 5-chips bet on a number which covers the number itself and the two numbers on either side of it on the Roulette Wheel;
  • Zero Neighbours bet (Voisins du Zero): 9-chips bet covers Zero plus seven numbers on the right, and nine numbers on the left.

All Roulette games, including American Roulette, offer the following standard bets (with the exception of the five number line bet which is not possible in European or French Roulette):

  • The first bet that you should know about is what is called a Straight Bet. This is when you place your bet on one number, in the hopes of that number coming up with the next spin of the wheel. You can do this by placing your bet (chip) on the number you have chosen, if the ball lands on the number you picked you will win 35 to 1;
  • The next type of bet that you can make is the Split bet, this is when you place your chip on the line between the two numbers that you think the ball will land on. If the ball lands on your number when you place a Split bet it pays 17 to 1;
  • The next type of bet is known as three different names Street bet, Trio Bet and the Three Number Bet. If you want to make this bet you have to put your bet on the outside of a line of the row that you want to bet on, if any number that is in the row that you bet on is landed on you win 11 to 1;
  • The Corner Bet aka the Square Bet and the Four Number Bet is when you bet on four numbers that are touching and you place a chip in the middle of them. If you hit any of the four numbers that are touching the chip you win 8 to 1;
  • The Five Number bet is when you bet on either 0,00,1,2, or 3. To place this bet all you have to do is put your chip on the line between the 0 and the 1 if you win you will get paid 6 to 1;
  • A Six Line Bet is when you bet that one of the six numbers in two adjoining rows will come up in the next round of play;
  • If you are making a Red Bet, it means that you think that the next number to come up will be a on a red color, you place this bet by putting your chip on the box marked Red. If you win this bet you will be paid 1 to 1;
  • You can also place a Low Bet which entails betting on numbers between one and eighteen, the payout for this is 1 to 1. To place this bet you put your chip on the box marked “Low”;
  • A High Bet is when you wish to place a bet on numbers between eighteen and thirty-six, you do this by putting your chip on the box marked “High”. There are also bets that let place your chips for a bet that covers twelve different numbers, or on the whole columns of numbers at one time.
